It’s smartly written, creatively imagined, and well acted. The dance sequence with “W” was a great choice. Absolute unexpected way to illustrate their friendship. Good work.
That ending.
Including “W” in this story is a stroke of genius. Throughout the play his presence is like a storm cloud. The entire play you’re uneasy, due to his presence. Knowing that this is where he came from. How the far right made a President and changed a nation (and nearly obliterated a couple of others.)
Then when you think it’s all said and done, BAM!, that ending. I got chills.
What I didn't like
Is Atwater almost too likable? Or is that point? It’s a great topic of conversation, and you will talk about this piece when it’s done.
My overall impression
A smart, ‘custom-made for political-junkies’ story about an almost forgotten man. (How is that possible?) It makes you laugh, makes you angry, and it chills you.
