"The cast is bolstered by Lucy Gillespie’s hardball script and director Billy Ray Brewton’s fly-on-the-wall gravitas."

Gosh, what a superb production. Outstanding performances, insightful writing and masterful direction. This is a very strong piece of ensemble theatre and would hold its own if immediately transferred to the Ahmanson, Broadway or West End. Son of A Bitch takes us on a moving journey through Washington in the 1980s, behind-the-scenes of the Republican White House, and has poignant messages for today in terms of corruption, populism and how the circus of politics is often disassociated from the will of the people. Five stars! ...

Fantastically written, beautifully staged and performed- a dark West Wing, into the mind of a man for whom winning is all that matters. Smart, tense and relevant....

Thoroughly enjoyable, even for someone who is uninterested in political history. Walked away hungry for more knowledge of Lee Atwater and his campaign for Bush. The show was well performed, well directed and very smartly written, with humor that toed the line artfully between ironic and tongue-in-cheek.
Go see it!...

Such a poignantly written play that goes beyond the personal story of Lee Atwater, and effortlessly sheds a light on the behind-the-scenes (and in front of the camera) of American politics today. Congratulations all around!...

Smart, playful, provocative, and timely. Really loved this production. The cast is fantastic in bringing a slice of the life of Lee Atwater to the stage. I hate the guy in real life, but this show brings you to the magnetic energy that made his amoral political strategies so effective. ...

Great show, highly recommend! Interesting subject matter and a compelling protagonist. The writing and timing felt very tight, not a lull at any point in the show!...

A tremendously impressive effort about a political insider whom most people probably don't realize is responsible for a large part of the world they live in right this second. Solid writing, inventive staging, dazzling performances abound. A fine way to kick off my L.A. theatrical experience!...
