This show is brilliant, educational, and frankly terrifying. It starts off like a shot and never loses momentum with performances from an ensemble of actors that you just do not want to stop watching, no matter how much you might hate who they are portraying. They're so good, it might make you fall in love with the figures from recent history they portray - even if you walked in fully certain you could never even like them. It makes you think, questions your assumptions and has got this reviewer, in particular, wanting to look more closely than I already do at everything anyone says in Washington, no matter how good they might look [if you aren't already doing that, this play will give you reasons to]. ... full review

A wildly fun romp and an instructive peek behind the curtain at the machinations that did much to lead our politics to the grim state in which we currently find them. With its clever script, creative staging, and stellar performances, this is a must-see.... full review

What a fantastic show, and so well deserving of Pick of the Fringe! Lucy Gillespie slays again with hilarious, sharp writing after her Prozorov hit last Fringe. Billy Ray Brewton keenly directs these excellent actors who bring energetic hilarity to the Broadwater stage. Ben Hethcoat and Luke Forbes make quite the team, with excellent acting chops from both. Hethcoat truly becomes Atwater, transcending the role. Delicious moments between Hethcoat and Fringe vet Chloe Dworkin - whose beauty only adds to her poignant scenes. The acting is quite superb throughout, with McElwee bringing it home as Jim. A marvelous piece.... full review

A fascinating biodrama filled with wit and an exceptional performance by Ben Hethcoat. From the POV of Lee Atwater, we watch him rise through the political ranks, break conventions, and change the system. The script carefully deviates from its A-plot from time to touch on Lee's love life. An extremely enjoyable play from a solid theatre producing team. You will leave the theater ready to Google Lee Atwater and find out more.... full review

Invigorating to see a period drama set when I was 2 years old. As a historian, who works on the U.S., and a politically engaged adult, who took an interest in politics beginning with GWB's presidency, I found this narrative helped fill a gap in my knowledge (after my period of expertise but before the awakening of my consciousness).... full review
