What I liked
The performers were engaging and drew you in to their acts. I liked the opening “act” the best because it was more in line with what a play should be. It involved the audience in that she was an acting coach/manager/etc. and talking to us out in the crowd in an interactional way. The next two sections were basically stand-up routines, and although they were consistently funny and clever, I would have preferred more of a “play” format for those two episodes.
What I didn't like
Continuing on what I wrote above, if they can come up with some other personnae for the second and third sections and tone down the stand-up aspect of it, that might make it more likely to come across as a play. Another approach would be to have a sort of humorous conversation between the two performers. Where they either interweave their stand-up routines somehow, or perhaps have them have a dialogue responding to listening to their “coach.” Maybe they’re two classmates who have done all the things they were taught, and they’re reflecting upon what really happened when they tried to apply their knowledge. Because the way it comes across, the opening bit is basically a (very funny, very clever) way of introducing two stand-up acts. I think the further you can get those stand-up acts from appearing to be just that, the better the overall show will be.
My overall impression
I must admit I laughed very hard throughout, even though I was not the target audience. (Too old and not an actor). But the performers came across as very likable and comedically seasoned beyond their actual years.
