A live band added a personal touch. It was a family affair! Her son was accompanying her as pianist/bandleader in a 3 piece. The tunes Charley picked and re-written lyrics were perfect. My favorite was a rendition of ‘Goldfinger’.
What I didn't like
Perhaps the lighting on the band could be dimmed when they’re not playing. Any movement, sound, facial expression is distracting.
My overall impression
I have so much in common with Charley! I, too, work in the medical field and revel in the freedom of performing on stage. I applaud her boldness to step up and share her story of irony cleverly peppered with lyrics and music to give a comedy relief through dark moments of her life.
