What I liked

The music was wonderful!

What I didn't like

Everything was fabulous!

My overall impression

Shakespeare gave us Romeo and Juliette. Inspired by Romeo and Juliette, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim gave us Maria and Tony in West Side Story. Lawrie Chiaro Smylie has given us a new and powerful love story in Let’s Write a Musical now playing at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2019.
Featuring superb direction by John Coppola, and a versatile and exuberant cast, Let’s Write a Musical takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride mixing humor, slapstick, tenderness and cruel fate, all in fast moving doses.
In the end, the young couples, who should be together, find each other and take themselves, ‘Out of Play.’ David and Lucy must finally part but they only do so after creating a magical musical.
