Ian Kaye delights as both actor and writer, delivering a manic performance as Joey and an equally manic script that serve to make this show great. David Haverty and Nikki Muller are brilliant as Denny and Doctor, both with their own insane quirks and ticks. The physical choreography is the highlight of the show, twisting the performers bodies this way and that, making me wonder what was going to happen next and how.
What I didn't like
[SPOILERS]
I wanted to know more about the Man and the Nurse. More about the “real” world. I like the twist on the reality of the situation, but I wish we had been introduced to it sooner so as to play in it more.
My overall impression
Easily one of my favorite shows of this year. Physical, emotional, disturbing, fast paced, and funny, 45 Milligrams will have you twisting with discomfort about the hoops and rings we all go through the minimize our own inner demons.
