What I liked

Lighting and sound design played a huge part in to why the play succeeds where it does. Those two elements enhance so much of the atmosphere is really positive ways. Also really enjoyed the physical play between Denny and Joey and how animated they were together.

What I didn't like

I wouldn’t mind seeing the sound and lighting ratcheted up even further either by just bringing up the volume on the music and sound effects in certain sections and making the lighting more dramatic and active throughout. Sort of as a way to play with the idea of “insanity”.

My overall impression

This was a very thoughtful and committed performance from the cast in a play that has been percolating and developing for some time. The lighting and sound design combined with some really electric physicality bring the play to life with a twist that sticks in your mind beyond just the car ride home.
