What I liked

I was impressed by the caliber of the actors, who pulled off dramatization of their characters down to the facial expressions, body language, intonations, and even likeness. The minimal props and historical speech interspersion gave just the right frame for the message. We watch a historical representation from over fifty years ago, and yet wonder why it all still sounds too familiar. Racism is alive and well. We know great suffering and strides have happened, but it leaves us with the crushing realization that so much hard work still needs to be done. The Civil Rights Movement’s purpose was not to be a short lived cure-all, it was the beginning seed that needs to be nurtured and shared through generations to come. This play is one important contribution on that long road.

What I didn't like

The only thing I would improve, is to make it a bit longer. I know brevity is sometimes important, but at the end I was sad that it was over already.

My overall impression

Memorable experience, very well written, great acting, powerful message. Racism explained through the civil rights lens and the vehicle of friendship, of two iconic American celebrities.
