It’s always nice to see a woman take the stage with this kind of authority and ease.
What I didn't like
It never really felt like we were having to choose a truth to ‘stand in’ as the synopsis implies. A clearer thematic thread might help develop this into a broader experience – we get the feeling there are more layers to Ms. Brown than this short show even begins to hint at. That said, if you have the time or need a break from the fringiest fringe shows, this is entertaining.
My overall impression
It’s clear that Jennifer Brown is at home on the stage and has no trouble keeping an audience’s attention. We do get to hear some fun stories from her life but the final question she posits leaves us wishing she spent more time digging in and/or explaining her thought process just a little bit.
