EVERYTHING. I love plays that mess with the audience’s mind, the immersive types that plunge them into sense withdrawal to create as visceral an experience as possible. If I’m getting annoyed by the way my eyes catch the limited light, I can start to imagine how a trapped coal miner feels. Shortage of food? I begin to keep my eyes on the hungry pig like the other cautious coal miner. There are unlimited things to focus on in such a dark space so go on the journey with them. Very sad to hear this was their last Fringe show but not forever I suspect. Every actor is so committed I felt very, very lucky to witness this production.
What I didn't like
Not a fan of being able to hear other loud theater goers in hallways surrounding the space. Out of respect for the experience this production is creating, there has got to be a pre-show talking to for the common spaces. THANKYOU :-)
My overall impression
Short of actual soot in my lungs, this one gave me all the feels!
