The immersive quality of the stage set-up, the solid and dedicated acting, the musicality of it, the moments of humor, the darkness and the light.
What I didn't like
Nothing to say here.
My overall impression
This was one of the most intense and immersive theater experiences I’ve had in a while. The scarce lighting, the visceral mine cave-in soundscape from the actors, the closeness and presence you feel as an audience member all contribute to a sort of fever-dream quality to the production, which is fitting because that’s exactly the mental state of the characters. You can feel their desperation, panic, despair, and their hope dwindle and soar. There’s music, humor, tension, pain and surprises in Butcher Holler Here We Come! and I think this is something you absolutely should not miss out on at Hollywood Fringe.
