What I liked

He conveyed different aspects of himself that were so different that they felt like different people and it came across to me as very authentic. I liked the way he worked through the time line of life because as he did the abuse suffered by Jimmy is made more poignant by the alcoholism and crazy behavior that follows.

What I didn't like

I was riveted throughout the performance and I also could have used a little more relief from the intensity in the form of more humor.

My overall impression

Powerful, no holds barred drama that is not for the faint of heart. Jim strips off all his masks and speaks through the voices of his pain. “Alcohol was not my problem, living life without alcohol was the problem.” Jim tells a powerful story of childhood abuse and trauma and also redemption and recovery. You may want to look away but you shouldn’t.
