What I liked

The complexity of the story was matched by the abilities of the actor to clearly convey through voice, movement, and gesture the characters he was taking on. When all you need at a certain point is a delicate wave of the hand to convey the opposite sex and a simple chair becomes a rocket ship, then you know you’re in for a unique performance. I loved how with is guitar and a loop machine he created a live sonic score that was evocative of those 1950’s type spacey Twilight Zone riffs yet worked perfectly for moments in the play. The writing had lovely moments and I really was moved by the closing monologue that really resonated with me long after the show.

What I didn't like

I feel it hit all the high marks for Fringe and don’t know what could make it better.

My overall impression

One of the jewels of this year’s Fringe with an expansive story and live score to satisfy Sci-Fi heads, a stellar performance by an engaging storyteller, and a beautiful reminder that the best of the Sci-Fi genre is not just the imaginative exploration based on scientific truths but a measure of our humanity and heart.
