From a story perspective, I like the use of the tumor as the cause for the creation of Ether’s world. Removing it raises a conundruum: getting rid of the only thing that’s good in Anna’s real life for the sake of living versus holding onto the safe, infinite imaginary world.
Drew’s storytelling within the story is imaginative. Jinny is a captivating performer.
And tonally, it was lighter than I expected which serves the piece well.
What I didn't like
I briefly lost track of the set up for rules of the world that was being created by the tumor (Ether’s world) in the beginning…it’s a lot of exposition to get across, so it’s not an easy task to deliver concisely
My overall impression
Poignant storytelling and creative medical licenses tell the story of Anna who travels to a world full of story weavers inside her head.
