What I liked

The music from Michael Gordon Shapiro will get stuck in your head, with a special mention to “Hide”. Allie Costa was the standout in the ensemble, playing love interest Margaret with such energy and sincerity as to make you smile along with her every awkward chance she gets.

What I didn't like

There were a lot of sound problems, where I couldn’t hear some of the cast over the music, or the music over the cast. Some of the cast being mic’ed and some not was a little distracting. There’s very little depth to the characters, as classic good vs bad guys, which would play well to a young audience, but could use some more oompf for a bigger production down the line. Also, his dad made the robot, not him. Doesn’t that disqualify him from the scholarship? It took away some of his agency, and he felt like less of a hero for using someone else’s work.

My overall impression

A fun wacky romp through the halls of highschool, where your wildest dreams will come true thanks to the new robot at your school.
