What I liked

Standout performances by Allie Costa who is reliably fantastic as well as James Everts and Jordan Mitchell-Love who belongs in his own anime. The music is strong, the choreography is tight and the ensemble is rock solid. Well directed by Joanna Syiek.

What I didn't like

Band was bit loud. I completely get that micing everyone in an ensemble this large is both an economic and technical challenge. That said, if you’re going to mic some actors, you should mic them all.

My overall impression

It’s an adorable, funny, sweet, tender, moving treatment of a timely and timeless problem. The music is catchy and filled with tight harmonies sung beautifully by a talented ensemble. Crisply-paced and mined for every bit of humanity and humor in the book. Michael Gordon Shapiro has written a show with legs.
