What I liked

Despite being a very campy self-aware show, I was surprised at the amount of genuine heart that went into this show, anyone who has ever had a pet who they consider a member of their family can relate to and understand the sentiment.

The entire ensemble is terrific, from the tough as nails Street Barf who has a chip on the shoulder(literally) to the sweet meek Leaky Eye who suffers from unrequited love and the hardened leader of the pack, who is scared to love again due to being hurt in the past. This talented group of performers commits so well to their roles and really set the pace for the entire show.

What I didn't like

My only criticism is that I would love to see this expanded into a full two-hour musical, as It would have been interesting to see Street Barf and Leaky Eye interact with their adopted families as well.

Overall this fun, fun-filled show is a silly but entertaining musical filled with some real ear-worms and is well worth your time.

My overall impression

DOGS The Musical is a fun, quirky one-hour musical that follows a story of a group of stray pit bulls, Street Barf(Dave Child) Leaky Eye(Bambi Bottoms) and their small but fierce leader Mutt(Alexa Vellanoweth) who are all are all content living free away from the bondage of human ownership. Our furry friend’s world is turned upside down when the trio is captured by Animal Control, and they have to face their biggest fear, being adopted by a loving family.
