Amazing voices and wonderful character acting, particularly from Netty the madame and one of the “Ladies of the Evening and the Day” with a chip on her shoulder. I couldn’t stop watching her every time she was on stage.
I also loved the Sheriff’s voice. That booming baritone!
The ending felt like a little bit of an homage to “Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” meets “Pirates of Penzance.”
Kudos to the composer for a lively score and the director for bringing out the silly in everyone involved.
What I didn't like
I think Hope and Chance needed more time for proper resolution of their “relationship.” But with only 60 minutes, I’m sure something had to give…
My overall impression
A naughty, bawdy musical romp through the Wild West! Amazing voices, a lively score, and just the right amount of camp for a fun-filled evening.
