Mitchell Bisschop’s body language is so specific between his characters, I almost didn’t recognize the sheriff as the same actor as the killer. He is one hundred percent committed and in the moment at every turn. As a stubborn believer in “practical effects over digital effects,” I was blown away by the theatricality of this particular use of multi-media. The use of music, video, and slideshow was nothing short of brilliant and help to tell the story in all the right ways. The body props are such a smart and fascinating detail to a bizarre story. The lighting is fantastic; I’m obsessed with the red wash and the strobes.
What I didn't like
I can’t think of a thing.
My overall impression
“Pit of Goblins” is a thrill ride from start to finish. Mitchell Bisschop brings humor and horror to the stage in new and surprising ways. I was mesmerized by so many elements of the show. This piece is a stand out of the Hollywood Fringe Festival and an exceptional theatrical production.
