What I liked

The show redefined my expectations for a “one man show,” and used those expectations against me to create some unforgettable surprises. This extends to the production value of the show, which used lighting effects so effectively that I was absolutely transported. The script was ingenious, and had me laughing my head off until it wanted to freak me out (and freak me out it did). Finally, of course, I must praise the performance that tied it all together, as I saw one man bring at least four very different characters to life.

What I didn't like

This show was an absolute delight and surprised me at every turn. I suppose, if I had to choose something to nitpick about, not all the videos used for transitioning scenes felt essential to the story. Most did, but some felt like they were more there to keep the mood set while waiting for the next scene. Maybe there’s a way to have some of the more abstract transitions be more tied to the story?

My overall impression

What an extraordinary gem of a show. Hilarious right up until it turns unsettling and scary – this show is filled with such specifically realized characters that it’s hard not to fall in love with them.
