The Melting Pot is an original variety show created and performed by a trio of misfits. We have three different points of view that are intregal to life as an everyday American outside the general narrative. Our aim is to make you laugh, make you cry, and to share a bit of our perspective through Sketch, Slapstick, Video, Stand-up and maybe even a song and dance!
Our cast comprises of two Females, one Male. There’s Ace, an Asian from Ohio; Caitlyn, a Ginger straight outta Texas; and Jose, a former Illegal Alien who immigrated from Mexico City to Chicago, hence, “The Melting Pot”. We tackle subjects such as Immigration, Mental Illness, Classism, The Generational Gap and the rarely discussed struggle of being in love with your water bottle.
As a country and as individuals, we are all faced with tough times and not only is it important for us to remember to laugh, it’s just as important to remember, we are all in this together.
