About the Project
A new exploration of the portrayal of women in media, past and present, Mashka and Mashenka Board a Train combines movement, monologue, and Chekov in a series of stylized vignettes to take a satirical look the characters we see on stage and screen. Through music and caricature, Mashka and Mashenka Board a Train seeks to highlight a dim past and hopeful future for media portrayal. The play features the talents of young theatre artists Cameron Kaufman and Olivia Treece as well as writer/director Melissa Green.
