What I liked

Matt Ritchey is flipping delightful and grounded as he fully commits to playing the deeply wounded and pompous newbie actor lashing out in bombastic fashion. Jim Niedzialkowski is pitch perfect as the exasperatedly kind veteran stage manager.

What I didn't like

Not a fan of strobe lights. Fortunately, they were consistently used in 1 musical number so it was Easily solved by closing my eyes for just those portions of the song.

My overall impression

Blackboxing is a hilarious, cringe-inducing exploration of the narcissism, neuroses, and sheer hubris of an actor putting on a one-man show. A loving and knowing skewering of a sometimes deeply self-indulgent art form.
