What I liked

smelly-turkey. I almost puked laughing during this segment.

The chemistry between Jim and Matt was undeniable- leading to some of the funniest adversarial face-offs I have ever seen in theatre. It came from a real place, a place where both men have clearly observed people disrespecting stage-managers.

fantastic pace, smooth transitions, and a balls to the wall, next-level performance by Richey. Went home with a huge smile on my face.

What I didn't like

I guess one element I wanted was Travis getting into it with someone in the audience- it does feel like someone would heckle him and he would go insane on them. Which, of course would be hilarious.

My overall impression

From the moment I picked up the program riddled with typos and jabs at those who feel they want to be the orchestra, audience, and conductor- I WAS IN and knew Matt was going to bring the motha-f*ckin noise.

The launch – this man knows how to do it. You understand what kind of show this will be almost instantly. There is no warming up or wasted time, from Richey’s first breath we know he is lampooning the one-man show, the ego-maniacal actor, the self aggrandizing artist, other fringers, and general a-holes we meet in Los Angeles.

Richey puts a mirror up to all of us- forcing us to ask: why are we doing this? What is the actual reason we are creating a play? Do we all really have something to say? Should I have been a dentist or a lowly file clerk instead of contributing to the downfall of art? He didn’t say this last part, but it does make you think about if your intentions are pure and if you actually have talent.
