What I liked

That Turkey song.

No, plenty more than that! Ritchey presents a genuine, heartfelt performance without coming across as melodramatic.

Even though the jokes point fun at the common tropes and traps that amateur theatre-makers make consistently, the jokes feels like there is an honest love to the craft—the stumbles and struggles we’ve all made along our own artistic paths. There is empathy, not sympathy.

Also, Jim is freakin’ hilarious. I absolutely loved his grounded performance and thought his line delivery was 100% perfect.

What I didn't like

I would liked to have seen the entire concept of the show take place during tech and not jump into the actual performance… but that’s just completely preference and not an error on the show’s part.

Maybe one bit could have been cut/shortened?

It was great!

My overall impression

A high concept, clever spin on amateur one-person shows. While the proverbial mirror to the Hollywood Fringe audience certainly hangs and reflects truth, it doesn’t rely on that device or a working knowledge/participation in the industry to laugh at the material.
