I love raw honesty and people sharing the dark, messed up parts of their souls and you definitely get this plenty with Crystal Bush’s story.
There are so many things to praise about this show, but one of my favorite things is when she takes on the characters of the junkies in her life. Floozy the Drag Queen is hilarious and brilliant.
And I’m so happy and relieved at the end of the show when I see the full circle of her journey. As with many recovered addicts I’ve met, who are as beautiful and shiny as Crystal Bush is, I am left thinking “I’m so glad you’re still here.”
What I didn't like
There were some technical things I wasn’t sure about – some lighting issues that I couldn’t tell if there were mistakes, or just odd creative choices.
The use of projection when she goes on the computer was unneccessary, as she is reading exactly what is on the screen, I found it very distracting.
The screaming when she loses it. It could have happened once and we would have gotten it. Her acting is a little too good, and it is ear-piercing.
My overall impression
A brutally honest look at addiction and recovery by a captivating woman.
