What I liked
It has come a long way since I first saw the production a few months ago. I appreciate the changes made, the cuts and recasting. The technical elements also improved! Rishi and Richa are stand outs for sure. Roshan is also great- happy to see him take on a larger role in this production. The TV Interview scene is so strong and strengthens the foundation of the entire world we’ve been experiencing – it is my favorite scene. Loved it.
What I didn't like
Technical details could be improved but I do understand the limitations of Fringe.
Weapons handling and Marines etiquette need a lot of improvement.
I don’t know how to say without sounding incredible harsh but a majority of the ensemble does not meet the needs of the story – bluntly put – the ensemble acting is not strong. It pains me to say that. The leads are wonderful – truly beautiful to watch and experience the love and deep pain through them.
My overall impression
This is a big story told pretty well. I appreciate the cast’s commitment to the high stakes of this war zone epic and the Bollywood dance breaks are a true joy and bring needed levity to the chaos of their world.
