What I liked
Alena’s performance skills are top-notch. She has poise, acting talent, and singing talent at a professional level. I’ve seen a number of one-person shows and this is among the best.
What I didn't like
My only minor quibble was that occasionally the live keyboard was a little too loud, obscuring some of the lyrics.
My overall impression
Among the best of the Fringe ! This is a comedic look at phone-app dating seen through the eyes of Alena’s fictional persona Polly. Alena is a total talent — professional opera-level voice, killer lyrics (she co-wrote with the director), Broadway-level performance ! This one-woman show has a live keyboardist, and Alena’s singing voice fills the Hudson. The lyrics are Disney-level sharp; Alena also plays all the other characters and two more live instruments, flute and ukulele. There were also a number of recorded sound effects, which came in right on time. One of the best solo shows — and Fringe shows — I have seen.
