What I liked
The reviewer really highlighted the fearless performances and the commitment to the premise. That’s always a huge plus at Fringe, when performers are really throwing themselves into something weird and wonderful. The fact that they specifically mentioned the “ensemble cast firing on all cylinders” makes me think the energy on stage must be infectious. You can tell when a cast is having a block blast, and it usually translates to a fun experience for the audience too.
What I didn't like
I also liked that they pointed out the unexpected humor and the way it leans into the ridiculousness of the title. It sounds like it’s not just a shock-value thing, but that there’s actual comedic timing and clever writing involved. The comparison to “what it might be like if the Monty Python crew decided to tackle a celebrity death hoax in the midst of societal collapse” is gold! That gives me a really clear picture of the kind of tone they’re going for. Plus, the hint of something deeper with the “surprisingly poignant” moments makes it sound like it’s not just pure chaos, which is a nice bonus.
My overall impression
It sounds like the kind of show you go to when you want to switch your brain off and just be entertained by something completely bonkers.
