This is a show about love, pure and simple. As such, it is truly inspirational. If only we could all have such a deep and abiding love as the 2 principals Mimi and Mara have now shared for decades! Wouldn't the world be a better place then??? It is their story, and they bravely share it with the world, including cis-gender heterosexual peeps like me. These two beautiful women share their story: their relationship, it’s ups, it’s downs, their love for each other, presenting and transitioning into a female identity, dealing with life, family, friends. How can one couple's journey, riddled with so much pain, complexity, and Mount Everest-type challenge, be handled with such grace, joy, love, openness, and beauty? Mimi and Mara will steal your hearts, break them, then return them to you more full and whole than you could have imagined. A compelling story of two very courageous people. A thought provoking piece that grabbed me from the moment Mimi and Mara appeared on stage till the curtain call which seemed far too soon. I wanted more. It is rare when a play transcends theatre and becomes an Event while entertaining and educating. This is one of those pieces. A play that should not be missed.... full review
