I appreciated how ‘untheatrical’ Bob’s show was; it felt more like a personal conversation with someone who has lived a long and full life; his persistent optimism for music and theater is wonderful and a pleasure to sit with through the duration of the show.
What I didn't like
It might have been nice to actually hear some of the music Bob’s been involved with (though there may technically be rights issues involved in doing this); because I’m not hugely familiar with some of the artists he knows well, I’d like to get to hear them while he explains his experiences with them.
My overall impression
Bob sharing his life in an earnest and direct manner was both fascinating and endearing; he’s led such an interesting life and made so many unique relationships with artists of all kinds. For someone who is so invested in the Fringe community, it was wonderful to get a better sense of who he is and where he comes from.
