I thought the story of Louisa May Alcott’s life and that of her book were woven together seamlessly, and to great effect, leading to a finished product that was greater than the sum of its parts. The cast had a great energy and the ensemble was used well. The music and dancing was unexpected and a lot of fun.
What I didn't like
I had a little trouble understanding the lines in the very first scene for some reason. But once it got going, I was totally in. Could have just been me.
Other than that, just too many empty seats! Come on, people!
My overall impression
I loved this show. You can tell a lot of time, thought, energy and love went into it. It was creative, inventive, fun and occasionally heart-breaking. And you don’t need to be a Little Women fan to enjoy this show. I went in remembering next to nothing about the book, and I enjoyed the show immensely.
