My overall impression

Em reminds us of the importance of live theatre, in her production of “What I Want to Say to You”. The passion of her voice ripples through the humble theatre vibrating the hearts and ears of the audience. A fire that can only be captured in a moment of truth. A moment that left an uncomfortable audience with a vivid audible imprint. It was the battle cry of a rape survivor. A survivor that was able to share her story despite the obstacles around her. Grief is meant to reveal someones character, and Em showed us that the fire inside her could be greater than the fire around, regardless of the helplessness that one can feel at times.

A big thanks to Em and Umar for this production, for revealing the side of the victims, those who have been silenced too long.
