The script is beautiful, tragic and poetic. This production gripped me from the very beginning and wouldn’t let go. It was by turns shocking, poignant, delightful and heart-wrenching.... full review

Two dramas by Sam Shepard, directed by Harrison James of Girl Trip productions, were a delight for me to see. Adam Navas was the male lead in each of them. Julia Manis played the lead role in Cowboy Mouth, whereas Adam sang Savage Love solo. Daring dancers Kandace Hurdle and Sarah Polednak accompanied the actors. In Cowboy Mouth, Sarah was alluring and beautiful, but in Savage Love, she was quiet and somewhat melancholy. Both one-acts relied heavily on this spectrum of abilities, which included yoga and ballet. Adam showcased his ferocity and intense emotion on drums during Cowboy Mouth, a performance that was filled with intensity and intensity. In contrast, his performance in Savage Love was that of a heartbroken, hopeless individual. ... full review

This irreverent and sensual play takes you inside the physical body of Sam Shepard and Patti Smith's grotesque and recklessly poetic relationship. The actors are raw and courageous as they navigate this delirious journey through the hell of a spiraling dream. With graffiti and plastic all over the stage, the featured dancers are a beautiful contrast. Their choreography highlights important guttural threads in the text, when the actor’s emotions might distract us from them. They also serve as protectors who, during a sex scene, dance down stage of the actors, giving them the privacy they can't give themselves. This short play also packs a punch with explosive drumming, rough raggedy singing and electric guitar strumming from its lead actor. T... full review

Wow! The authors have distilled so much of human emotion and expression into this brief work and the director and actors have taken it more than one step further. A tour de force of range, of physicality, of connection. The audience is drawn in to the exquisite and perplexing balance of stillness and noise, anger and love, everyday and fantastical.... full review

I believe the writing had to be more Patti Smith than Sam Shepard. That being written, I thought the actors were both amazing! I believed their totally dysfunctional relationship, and they were totally committed to the piece. They worked well off each other and commanded the stage. ... full review
