It is difficult for two dancers to carry an entire show but these performers give so much in their dancing and in the story-telling of their bodies, that no other dancers were needed. This is quite an accomplishment. The acting aspect of the dancing was impressive. One minute Tomas and Gimena are a young couple in the first blush of love then minutes later an established couple angry with each other, all played out in the language of the dance.
What I didn't like
It was difficult to read the subtitles on the screen which was frustrating since the old man singing and talking was obviously the inspiration for the dancers’ journey. It would help the audience to connect to the story better if they didn’t have to struggle to read.
My overall impression
Incredible performance by world-class dancers. None of the stereo-typical tango usually seen in stage presentations which made it so refreshing. Music selections are powerful and perfect for the story the dancers are telling.
