What I liked

I didn’t necessarily understand the 2 parts (“Francis of the Serengeti”, “Metro Sex Y’All”) that leaned very much into absurdist territory, but it was fun to watch the actors give it their all. I liked Patricia Canale’s performance of the monologue “Whitefish” and it’s down-the-rabbit-hole spiraling of a smart but lonely person into the hypothetical tribulations of a fantasy love affair. And I liked Kristian Bikic who appeared in 3 sections, in which he showed a real earnest innocence that gave the other actors lots to play off of. I also liked the sci-fi trippiness of “Soulmates”.

What I didn't like

I didn’t understand the “Closest at Supper” monologue, but maybe I just blocked it out when I realized it was about a character in a church setting. I think it stoked my church-related PTSD….

My overall impression

A tasty assortment of one-acts, with a healthy dose of absurdist humor to counteract the occasional saccharine notes.
