What I liked
The set was simple, perfect for a Fringe show. You got the feeling you were in a studio apartment without having to have a bunch of set pieces. One of the best scenes was a short montage of the two characters going through the hectic nature of their daily routine, no dialogue just music and the action to tell the story and show emotions.
What I didn't like
There’s not much that could be improved. Enunciation could have been a little stronger at the beginning, but I’ll say that was nerves of opening night causing a bit of dry mouth. Additionally, the venue made some staging difficult to see. Having platforms for the audience to sit on, yet the stage on the floor made it so any action of the actors on the floor was missed by the back row. But again, that’s more of a venue issue as opposed to an issue of the show.
My overall impression
There really isn’t a better word to describe this show other than its title: Strong. This show definitely takes you on a ride of emotions as you witness the highest of highs and the lowest of lows with two best friends. They have to find a way to understand how each are feeling when one receives devastating news. It truly shows how vulnerability really can be a strength.
