What I liked

One of the most enjoyable aspects Incredibox of the show is its clever use of musical numbers to reflect the various personalities and passions of the public speakers. The diversity in musical styles and the high energy of the performances bring infectious enthusiasm to the stage. The character development is also strong, particularly in the portrayal of the man who delivers the transformative speech. His journey from silent observer to passionate advocate is both inspiring and heartwarming. Additionally, the humor woven into the script adds a layer of charm, making the satire of local politics both entertaining and thought-provoking.

What I didn't like

While the show succeeds in many areas, it occasionally feels a bit scattered due to the large cast and multiple subplots. At times, the sheer volume of characters and their storylines can detract from the central narrative. Tightening the focus on key characters and streamlining the plot could enhance the overall coherence of the musical. Additionally, some musical numbers, while enjoyable, may benefit from stronger thematic ties to the main story to ensure that each song contributes meaningfully to the overall narrative arc.

My overall impression

A New Musical offers a delightful and witty exploration of the clash between bureaucracy and public dissent. Set in the charmingly chaotic city of Happymont, the musical ingeniously weaves together humor, drama, and song to present a compelling story about the power of public voice and the unexpected heroes who rise to defend it. The blend of quirky characters, catchy musical numbers, and sharp social commentary makes it a standout production that engages and entertains throughout.
