What I liked
Oh, so many things! Both actors are phenomenal character actors! Between Maria’s “mom” character and Bethany’s “creepy man in the club” character they transported me out of that theatre, and directly into the scenes. I loved Maria’s dancing, it really revved me up!! I absolutely loved Bethany’s scene about her gender issues (I don’t want to give anything away), not only was it hysterical, but I related to it so much that it actually made me feel ok about my own gender issues. I loved soooo many other parts, but I’m so afraid I’m going to give away the show, so you’ll just have to go see it!
What I didn't like
nada. zip. zero. zilch…….oh, actually, I wish it was LONGER! Although I don’t know if my face and belly could handle any more laughing. But I can take the pain, so yeah, LONGER!
My overall impression
WOW!! These two women have comedic chemistry that is off the charts! They were brilliant at being able to blend painful memories with COMEDY, without taking away from the seriousness of their painful stories. That is not an easy feat, but they fucking nailed it! It is also SO refreshing seeing two women blowing open the box of how women “should” be. They took the social construction of what it means to be a “lady” and shoved it deep up their asses and then shit it out in such a powerful way! IF YOU ARE HUMAN, YOU MUST SEE THIS SHOW!!!!
