What a charming show! As odd as the show's premise sound, an element that solidifies the dynamic of the show comes of a stagehand who interacts with the audience during the play. Mixing these three characters together, the writer was able to add levity to the young couple's struggle with Asperger's. Along with Esther Mira's beautifully rendered dance and Craig Shields's music performed in xylophone and hand drum, the play elevates itself into a truly meaningful and unique product....

With My Eyes Shut is definitely a piece that should be seen by everyone. It gives perspective on how neurodivergent people understand those around them, while also showing how they can relate to one another. Directed by Tara Donovan, the show moves with great momentum, making a fantastic use of sound, color, and space. Craig Shields displays an incredible musical talent throughout. I was thoroughly surprised to see someone with the ability to play the xylophone so well. Esther Mira gives the piece an elegant and challenging dance performance that brought life to the piece through movement. It's a must-see for Fringe 2018....

An irresistible, audience-involving, subtle and elegant yet seemingly spontaneous and informal exploration of what it means to be human, talented, fallible and needy. We leave convinced that persons on the spectrum are fascinating and real, thanks to riveting performances by Esther Mira as an entrancing, emotionally fragile dancer, Craig Shields as a skilled and erudite musician who can’t make eye contact and would rather play his instruments, and Olivia Schlueter-Corey as an over-worked, yet endearing theater technician.
This production is both enlightening and touching, a true audience pleaser not to be missed!

Powerful, playful and tear-jerking story of two people who struggle to be understood and find a way to hear each other. Olivia Schlueter-Corey became an instant hit as the show's charming, bright and funny spark of comedic relief between setups. Craig Shields is a great talent and was engaging from lights up to blackout. Great show, sold out house. Catch it before it closes!...
