What I liked

The cast gives it their all and the stylized fight scenes (particularly in the last act) are exciting to watch. The final scenes where Hercules faces the result of some of his deeds is particularly effective.

What I didn't like

The first half of the show moved very slow, in my opinion. the narration could have been delivered with more variation in pace and emotion. However, the style is very consistent for the piece and I respect the achievement here. The pace made it harder for me to emotionally engage at first, but I did as the play went on.

My overall impression

A new translation of a Roman tragedy, this show offers some cool visuals and a mix of dance, violence, heroics, masks and blood. I found it a little hard to relate to the story of Hercules and the trials of his family as he returns from the underworld, but by the end, I was moved by the final reveal of what lies ahead for the hero and his family.
