The Linda Muggeridge’s costumes and Esther Mira and Jen Albert’s choreography were powerful, beautiful, and affecting. Dawn Alden is striking and effective in her lengthy monologues as Juno showing her depth and talent as an actor. Tiffany Cole has an amazing, powerful voice that lends to the musicality of her emotional speeches and a mesmerizing stage presence with the movement pieces. The entire ensemble is impressive in their ability to transition from human, to creature, to musician creating the live underscore. Christopher Johnson creates a truly unique theatre piece that feels simultaneously historical and completely modern.
What I didn't like
While I really enjoyed the history lesson as part of the curtain speech, it was a little too fast paced to fully understand and yet still felt a bit long. Would have loved most of it as a directors note in the program or built in as more of a polished preamble.
