What I liked
The concept is good, and there were some solid laughs. I appreciated the one storyteller who made a very valiant effort at keeping the other two on track.
What I didn't like
In full disclosure, I left the show a little over halfway through. I’m glad to see all of the positive reviews from people who enjoyed the show, but for me it was pretty much a miss. I enjoyed some of the chaos of the storytelling section, but that grew tedious after a while, and overall it veered into obnoxiously loud and messy territory. Once the first few improv scenes featured a similarly shouty vibe, I decided to call it a night.
My overall impression
A good concept with very mixed execution. This reminded me of the type of improv show you see at the Del Close Marathon at 3 AM, when a lot of the performers are drunk and the improv gets into really experimental territory. Since DCM is moving to LA from New York next year, I think this troupe should look into getting a spot for this show there; I think an improv festival would be a much better fit for this show than Fringe.
