What I liked
I loved it! I love ALL the Movement and Sound and Story. I love Yoko’s Committment with 2 T’s to the piece. How she takes a famous story and creates her own Originality. Her own purpose of you will in the Telling. I Cried. I love the Grotesque Imagery. That is such Authenticity to what Butoh – Dance of the dark body and Soul is.
What I didn't like
Take the Show to Arizona. Try Mesa Arts Center. They have Experimental Theatre there. We also have a great Downtown scene. Sic Sense Theatre or Trunk Space may pick it up. Thank You for bringing it. Also try Tucson if you come out West.
My overall impression
Yokko is Brilliant. The choreography is Spectacular to every inch of Movement. Yokko is Brave, Beautiful & Raw. Her work is carefully Articulated to every Bone, Tongue, Cheek, back, limb etc…Her Butoh Movement is Genius. So is the lightening , Costime, and Music. Great Team.
