This was a simple yet well staged one-man show that used music, dance, and projections to lead the audience through different aspects of this young man’s life. His well-timed and energetic performance captured each distinct character perfectly. You were unable to take your eyes off of Mr. Prescod’s talented performance.
What I didn't like
A mic would have enhanced the performance. At times I was unable to hear every nuanced aspect of his performance.
My overall impression
Steven invites the audience to follow the trajectory as he moves from the path of destruction to the road to redemption. In A Brooklyn Boy, Steven bears his soul and does not shy away from his mistakes, using them as a cautionary tale to the young and a memoir to the mature.
