What I liked

The cast seems to be having a blast with this thing. This show is designed to be a goofy, crowd-pleasing time that never takes itself too seriously. (I truly appreciated some clever references to the Hammer Studios movies I grew up with as a kid.) Simply put – a fun, energetic time.

What I didn't like

I thought the piece worked best when it stuck with the classic monsters. When, near the end, it introduces some more recent “monsters” the show was less effective for me. However, the fun did not stop going and the show always kept up a fast pace.

My overall impression

Unleash the goofiness! Dracula is hosting sing-alongs, hurling puns likes grenades, riffing on the perils of lost loves and the inconvenience of bringing them back from the after-life, inviting a few friends like Frankenstein’s Monster or Quasimodo over for a chat and a few jokes… this thing works best when it is going full steam ahead and doesn’t care if the occasional joke brings only groans. Go for the monsters, stay for the fun!
