What I liked

The whole cast including Dracula were very good performers and the director did package everything well, even if their talents were wasted on poor material. I even enjoyed Carrie Keranen as stand-up comic Quasimodo. She was the most appealing part of the show by a mile.

What I didn't like

The karaoke songs went on too long and there were a lot of them. It’s a cabaret, but for some reason when Frankenstein showed up, it was a talk show. I’m no big fan of David Mamet, but he seemed like an odd choice to lampoon. This show was full of odd choices…

My overall impression

Lacks substance. Despite all the preparation put into the production, it seems that no one put much thought into the script or the jokes. The political commentary came out of left field and really didn’t belong. The show is listed in the “musicals and opera” category, but I don’t think karaoke counts as musical or opera. When there are so many great shows at Fringe, why spend your money and time on something like this?
