What I liked

I really enjoyed the abstract elements of the piece. The different voices popping in and out of Janine’s head. I also really enjoyed the ensemble performers, especially that of Addison Turner. She really differentiated and embodied the different characterizations.

What I didn't like

The lighting. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to see the faces of the characters because the lights were so dim. Also, there were some moments when the story seemed a bit clunky. Particularly, the clever moments when there are interruptions poking fun at the evils of advertising. It’s a clever moment in the script, however I didn’t find that it flowed properly in and out of the preceding and following moments when translated on stage.

My overall impression

Really powerful overall message. As a person who understands the struggles of overworking and not taking the time to be content with one’s accomplishments and relax, the overarching message of the show hit home.
