The minute you walked on the set, it really felt like a production from the crew, the cameras, the set, the announcer with the “voiceover voice” and our host, Ben Benjamins, who clearly loves what he does. Aside from the wacky nature of it all, there is a feeling of earnestness throughout the show – as if everyone is really 100% behind the effort. This is rare in most aspects of ones life, let alone the world of entertainment!
What I didn't like
Personally, I was never a fan of the “Double Dare”/Marc Summers sorts of shows. The slimy, sticky, soggy aspects of the show have little to no appeal for me personally. Having said that, the room was totally cheering and into it and the creators of this show are clearly onto something. Aside from my personal tastes, this was a winner.
My overall impression
It’s a game show! Not a parody of a game show, but an actual bonafide game show in the middle of Fringe. Kind of unexpected and a breath of fresh air.
